Oracle products are only for big businesses
- or are they?
OCP don't think so.
Although the main Oracle advertising is aimed at the large business, the pricing
structure puts an Oracle solution within the reach of any ambitious small
company. Oracle Collaboration Suite is a prime example: with a per user cost of
£37, and annual support at <£10/user, the product is extremely competitive
compared to the alternatives.
It doesn't need expensive hardware: our own system runs on a pair of elderly
Sunblade 100 workstations - they have the maximum supported memory, and some big discs,
but this complete configuration can be assembled for around £1500.
